  One of the latest entertainment trends in the Philippines is the emergence and widespread popularity of Philippine Television or pinoytv  as it is popularly known in the English speaking world. Like all other popular television programs, PINOYTV has been subjected to stereotypes and humorous references from both viewers and the actors who make up its main cast. Some ABS-CBN shows have been accused of being too "American" in their focus on domestic matters such as cooking, beauty, and fashion while ABS-CBN shows like The Bachelor are criticized for their over-the-top romanticism. For the Filipino audience, the jokes they hear on ABS-CBN's reality shows such as My Life on a Show or A Good Time with Marlon Brando: Made in America may seem out of place at first.
